Since only Victoria and Angela were able to make the meeting, here's a summary of what we discussed. No notes were taken.
1) "Dear Evan Hansen" If you want to or know someone that wants to go on the trip with us, have them sign the clipboard and take a packet from the piano. This is a new list, so the old one is obsolete. If you want to go, you need to be on this list. We only had 15 show up out of a possible 40. If we can't get 40 people before break, we need to refund tickets to the Paramount. I don't want to do that.
2) We talked about the Variety/Radio show. We were impressed that it came together, but depressed that only 6 people were in the audience. I decided that since we couldn't even get a full council on board to do this and since we couldn't get the word out through advertising that this would be the last one presented here at MP. We used to have the entire council and Drama Club involved and audiences of 50-100 people and dozens of bags of food, but I think last year's show hurt us and this years lack of advertising didn't help. This is kind of sad since it is Drama Club's opportunity to give to the community.
3) We talked about PR for Beauty. We've had 2 events that could've been better attended through proper advertising. We can't have a 3rd event like that since this one is our "moneymaker." We'll discuss this further in January when we meet.
4) We talked about the Christmas wrapping fundraiser. We haven't heard from Alex if the dates for Fred Meyer were secured. If not, it's most likely too late to get any dates. If that's the case, feel free to take any of the $100 worth of wrapping paper and supplies for yourself. If it's not the case, stay tuned.
5) We talked about the audition workshop. It is on Thursday. I'll talk about signing up for times and going over the audition packets. We really need to recruit guys for this show, at least for those main characters. After the info session, we'll have the dance taught to us. Everyone who is auditioning should be there. We don't have a 2nd workshop scheduled, so if anyone misses, they'll have to learn the dance from someone second hand unless someone records it.
That's it. I think we should schedule a council meeting next month before auditions begin. I'll let you pick the date. We have some serious stuff to discuss about the dedication and help needed for the show. I can't have a flakey council, otherwise our show will not be as good as it could be. I'm honestly a little worried after this last event.
Please respond that you read this by choosing a date. If you don't respond, you won't have a choice in the matter. Some of you haven't check the boards since October...ouch.
