November 12, 13 and 14
Here's what's going on during our next 3 rehearsals:
November 12:
We're focusing on Act 2 on Tuesday. Act 2...MEMORIZED! If everyone has done their job, we should be able to do Act 2 twice! Please be prepared. You have Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday to go over lines. Please use them. We need to have the entire show memorized so we can move onto...
November 13
Welcome to our stage/light and sound crew! I'm hoping that everyone remembered or got the message that today was the day that we needed them. If you know anyone who signed up, please remind them to show up on Wednesday.
We're only focusing on Act One on Wednesday, so with tech being added, expect it to go slow and rough. I need to the cast to help stage crew, and I'll be helping sound and light crews up above. Because of this, you'll need to designate someone in the cast or crew to help you out if you forget a line or need a hint because I won't be there for you. You should not need that though, right?
Be patient. Because you have people learning things, things will not go smoothly. Your light crew will most likely turn off the lights at the wrong times and you'll get sound effects and or music at the wrong times and at times too loud. Don't yell at your tech people if that happens. No one yelled at you when you messed up on stage the first few times you were supposed to do something a certain way. The light crew has new lighting to learn, so there's a really good chance it won't be perfect. The sound crew will be juggling your microphones (yes microphones) and sound effects/music. A lot of things are going to go wrong. I'd be amazed if it went perfectly.
P.S. The stage crew is there to help you. You are not allowed to yell at them. If they quit...the cast becomes the stage crew. You do not want them to quit.
Just worry about yourself and do your job.
November 14th
Same thing as the 13th, but with Act Two. Again, be patient. If we can survive this week, the next week will be even more exciting at things really start coming together.
There's a thread on Google classroom regarding microphones. You need to go to that thread, read it and then respond before you can be given a microphone on Wednesday. Go do that! See you Tuesday!
