Twas the week before Spring Break...
Here are the plans for the final 4 before break. Just a reminder that even though you're taking a week off from rehearsals , that doesn't mean you should actually take a week off from working on your stuff for the show!
Please, please, please go over all of your lines (they need to be accurate and not paraphrased!), your music (use Victoria's online help!), your choreography (just spontaneously start dancing in public!) and your blocking (Your bedroom can be your "stage!") Don't go too long without reviewing your stuff. If you come back from break and can't remember anything, we're in deep, deep trouble. Our first Monday back represents our final 2 weeks and 2 day of rehearsal.
That being said, WE HAVE TO HAVE EVERYTHING ON OUR END COMPLETED BY THIS WEEK! Once we bring in light and sound crew our time to fix things is pretty much about over. So if it's broken by the end of rehearsal on Thursday...the following Monday is going to be a little rough.
Monday, March 25th: CHOREO- We need EVERYONE who is in ANY choreographed number to be here. I watched your choreography this week and boy...some of it looks great...and some not so much... It's obvious who was here for all choreo rehearsals and who was not. Remember if you missed a rehearsal, you have to work harder than the others otherwise you'll really stick out and not in a good way.
Tuesday, March 26th - I'll be with the pit for the first hour or so, so we want to spend this time working on EVERYTHING including more choreo. j
Wednesday, March 27th- ACT ONE- This will be the first official day for stage crew. We told them to come in Monday, so if you know anyone in the group, tell them to come in on Wednesday. We are running all of ACT ONE, but slowly. You will need to have your lines down 100%. We're going to be adding more things to the show (props!) and tweaking the blocking a little more. We will also be using the pit recording that I created on Tuesday so YOU WILL NO LONGER BE SINGING TO PRERECORDED VOCALS. This is all on you now. I'll play the music loud, so your job is to sing over it. No more holding back. Show me your voices!
Thursday, March 28th- ACT TWO- Same plan as yesterday with the 2nd half of the show. If we finish early, we'll pick and choose any rough spots to work on. The goal for the day is to make sure we are 100% ready to add tech crew for the next rehearsal. We'll probably also be doing projection exercises with you.
That's the plan as of today. As always, we ask you to be here especially if you have used up all of your 3 missed rehearsals or have missed any blocking or choreography days. After spring break, not being here is not an option. This show is like a really tough puzzle and like all puzzles, when you're missing pieces, it's a lot harder to put together.
