So basically I need y'all to give me any suggestions you can think of for breaking into character because right now I feel like to much Rylee and not enough Gaston. ANYTHING AT ALL is helpful, just drop it below and I'll look, thanks in advance, Rylee

Your first thing that you should do is watch the original movie and the recent live action version (but only focus on your character). Watch how the animated characters walk, talk, interact with each other and so on. Notice what the other characters say or sing about you. Take notes.
Then, if you're really brave, go on Youtube and watch other productions of this show and how people created the character of Gaston. You may see things you like that you'll want to try for yourself.
Gaston as a character is very much not you, so recognizing that is your first step to creating a character. One thing I noticed while you have been on stage is how "light" you play Gaston. Think about how much Gaston weighs with all of his muscles. Probably not a "light" guy. Fill out your character questions and that'll help you think about things like that and more!

I've done that a few times but I could do it more obviously! I've filled out my character questions already though, it was lots of fun! Thanks for the tips!

Do what Klem said and possibly try stuffing t-shirts or something in your shirt to make you look buff because you will probably have a muscle suit

I’ve noticed when your on stage with Angela your trying to be more Gaston but you haven’t really like broke through your shell yet, which is okay you just have to think Gaston. Like think your the most inportant guy in the village, everyone loves you. Your the best one in the village, and belle has to be your wife. Watch the movie as much as possible and go off Gaston in there. And if you need more pointers ask Morgan, he can help.

I think the most important thing when acting in general is to not worry about looking dumb/being "annoying". If that's your character, then embrace it! The other actors (and the audience, of course) aren't going to be bothered by you portraying your character in the best way possible. It's easier said than done, but try and let go of any fears of embarrassing yourself! Drama club is a great place to learn that ;-)
