The final three rehearsals.
Some things to know:
1) As mentioned last week, we may be going until 5:30 if there are any issues with rehearsal. Plan accordingly and be happy if everything goes right and we end on time!
2) Be here. You want to mess up our show that dozens of people have been working on since September? I hope not. Clear your calendars. These are the last 3 chances to get this right. Don't mess us up!
3) We probably won't start the "show" until 3:00 each day this week. That will give you time to put costumes on and check props. On Thursday when we add make up, be here ASAP after school to give yourself some extra time. We still start at 3:00 pm.
4)Please be prepared. I'm praying that you got your lines down over the weekend. If there are any line issues, you are one your own. I'll take notes on where you screwed up (which I expect you to read before the next rehearsal) but I won't stop you if you cause a train wreck on stage.
5) I'll be taking notes each and every night and I do expect you to read them before the next rehearsal. You will be expected to respond to them. If that's a problem for you, I hope you don't plan on trying out for the spring musical. I needed responsible committed students on that show. Not following the directions of your director does not score you any points.
6) We will be adding our final props this week including flame shooting wands. I'll go over the newest things with each affected actor before we start.
7) Rem Iember to project into your microphone. We can't turn your mic up any louder, but we can easily turn it down. We should have microphones for everyone today because our replacement microphones have arrived. If you break your microphone, you will not get another one (and you may have to pay for anything that happened that was your fault, so be careful.)
8) Remember to take your time and slow down your lines. It's not a race. I'd rather you say your lines slower and be understood than rush them and have the audience wonder what you said.
9) At the end of rehearsal, you have jobs to do! Don't leave right away. I'll probably have some final thoughts and then give you time to not only put your props, costumes and microphones away, but clean up any messes you've made in MC-8. That includes putting back all chairs, throwing away all garbage and starting Thursday, cleaning up all make up stations. I don't want my 1st period class on Friday sticking their elbows in your make up mess.
10) Extra emphasis on putting all of your props and costumes away. There's some things backstage that were left out that should've been put away last Wednesday. NEVER leave anything out backstage because you don't know if it will be there the next day.
That's enough for now. You don't have to respond to these, but I do expect your responses to each set of notes from tonight, Wednesday and Thursday! We have 3 days to perfect this! Let's do it!
