Welcome to the thread that discusses rehearsal ONE!
We're going to use this thread as the "check in" page to see if you can figure out how to use this message board. If you are in the cast of "The Drowsy Chaperone" could you do me a favor and chime in below with something you're excited about regarding the show? If you know someone who has been cast, maybe you can help us by directing them here before Monday so they can be up to speed.
On Monday, we'll gather together anyone who hasn't checked in and get them to know this website and all of our other social media abilities. Since we have some cast members who are MG, we've found that having a message board is the best way to have a "home base" that everyone can check. Since ALL of you have Chromebooks, being able to check in daily should not be an issue.
Things to bring for Monday (if you forget it is not the end of the world.)
- A 3-ring binder. It's the easiest way to keep your 3-ring punched script and music together. Do not rely on the one staple to do that.
-A highlighter would be good for highlighting your parts. There are some errors in the script where some actor or set directions are not separated from the dialogue. We'll cover those Monday.
-Something to write with! You'll have some things to fill out or to take notes on.
-Your Chromebook- We'll take you on a tour of this message board and social media.
-Snacks and drinks!
-Your voice! Our first rehearsal is a "read through" which is simply that. We "read through" the script while listing to the music. It's your chance to get familiar with your roles and dialogue.
Rehearsal is scheduled from 2:30-5 Monday (same times every day) Plan to be here until 5:00, though we may finish earlier. Unlike the past 3 years, this show is not a 3 hour extravaganza. It's a nice compact 100 minutes of pure comedy and fun!
For the first few weeks, we've scheduled music rehearsals. We'll go over the calendar at our first meeting, but do know that you will not be needed every day for the first few weeks of rehearsal. It is your responsibility to know what songs you are in (it says in your script) and to be at those rehearsals. It is also your responsibility to check this website because sometimes the calendar changes.
Break a leg everyone! Be sure to chime in below if you are in the cast, and I'll see you Monday in MC-8 at 2:30!
