Here's the main info:
What: The 5th Avenue High School Theatre Awards
When: June 11th at the 5th Avenue Theatre at 7:00
How much? : $20 for student ticket and $30 for adult tickets
Nominations for the 5th Avenue Awards will be announced on May 22nd at 5:00 pm on their Facebook, Twitter and www.5thAve.org websites. As a cast or crew member of "The Drowsy Chaperone" you are eligible to be nominated for an award in many different categories. Unfortunately, the deadline to order tickets through MP is earlier than that.
The ceremony typically opens with a rousing opening number featuring 2 representatives from each high school, so even if we aren't nominated, there is something to cheer about!
Here's what I need from you:
The 5th Avenue only sales tickets for this event through each high school. Each high school is given 20 tickets. If, by chance, a high school is nominated for best musical, they can order more, but without that, 20 is tops!
2 of those tickets will be spoken for because Drama Club pays the way for the 2 people representing us in the opening number. The representatives are Emmaline Savidge and Cohleen-Ray Villejo. I haven't told them yet. If neither of you can do it, just let me know. We have dozens more to choose from.
That leaves 18 tickets. One is mine.
That leave 17 tickets.
The Drama Club buys the tickets in advance. We will order them based on the response s in this thread. IF you would like to go, you need to respond to this thread stating how many tickets you would like (and what type: student or adult).
If you respond to this thread saying you want a ticket, YOU ARE COMMITTED TO PURCHASING THAT TICKET. We are ordering tickets for you because you are committing to go. If you find that you can't go after we have paid for the tickets, you are responsible for "selling" your ticket. If you don't sell it, it becomes a student fine. You can respond to this thread a "yes" and you have until Wednesday, March 15th to change your response to a "no." After that, it's too late. You're committed. Make sense? We don't want to get stuck with extra tickets because we can't afford to be stuck with extra tickets.
Okay- Remember deadline is Wednesday at1:00. After we vote our new council members in, our old council is going to meet one more time to buy these things. Please spread the word to those who seldom read the boards. They may want in on this.
Who's joining me?
