I'm happy to see our posters in various stores that I've visited over the past week or so, and I like the article in the North County Outlook, but...
I think we need to do even more to get the word out about our show. I normally don't get as concerned about advertising but considering how much we spent on the show, and how it's not as well known as our past 3 shows, I think we need to do even more. Especially since Cedarcrest Drama (for some reason) decided to open up their show "Seussical Jr" the same night as our opening night. We have competition from our own district.
We definitely need to get those left over posters up around campus (and even at MG if they aren't). I wanted them all out of classroom by last Friday, but they are still here! I put some up, but let's get the rest out of there!
Has anyone considered making large posters for the school? We've done banners in the past to hang up in the forum and elsewhere. Victoria asked about putting the banner we have on the front fence, but putting the good one out within reach has never ended well with one torn in half and another partially burned. That's why the banners I paint are just high enough that no one can reach them without a ladder.
We have the video from Amanda (can we get a Youtube link soon, so we can get it added to the MP assembly agenda this Friday?)
What other ideas can we do? I'm not sure what the Marysville Globe's deal is again. They are so "meh" when it comes to advertising our shows lately. I'm sure they got our press release.
My biggest fear for this show is that you all put in tons of hard work, created an amazing show and that we only get a few dozen people a night. That's happened before on some of our lesser known musicals. I really would hate to see that happen this year.
Throw out some plans for last minute advertising and let's do them! We have a number of council members not actively involved in the show, or not doing as much in the show, that can take this on.
