It's the exact same plan as MONDAY! MONDAY! MONDAY!
I'll be here at 5:00ish.
6:00 is the latest you can arrive. Got that Jesus?
6:15 warmups
6:30 Act one begins
Sound good?
Great job on Monday! We are so close! I hd the same notes for the Man in Chair again (Roman Bartelli...say it...Roman Bartelli chews the scenery) and also again look at page 41. You have 2 dialogues that take place between two songs. You try to force them all into one song and then there's a lot of music following. If by chance Man in Chair doesn't respond that he read this, maybe someone can point that out. Also another note for him (and for some cast members) work on the enunciation still. Kesler noted this, and it's been in my past notes. Note those periods, and trynottorunyourlinestogetherbecauseifyourushthemoutitishardtounderstandwhatyouraresaying.
Janet- so close on the "show off" change. If you can pull it off, it'll look great! Make sure you make the end entrance on time. I was pretty sure that you had 2nd thoughts about Robert at the end there.
Janet- Not sure why you changed your path to the pit for the encore, but that was sooo obvious. It kind of lost the "wow" factor seeing you go into the audience. Weird fact: Sometime people sit in that area too.
Reporters- Don't forget to come out slightly later as Janet is hanging out by the pool. The musical cue for you was only mentioned in the conductor's score and not in our scripts/music. So, now we know.
A quick note about accessories and jewelry that some of you seem to be sporting. If you wear a watch, make sure it's not an iWatch. Man in Chair is the only one who can get away with that. Also some of you girls (and a gangster) had wrist bands on that aren't very 1928. You may have to remove them.
Microphones- I noticed this, and probably the sound board did too. If you are one of those whose mic was not close to your face, you were harder to hear than those that taped them to your faces close to your mouths. There may be something to that. Also make sure that they are off backstage. I didn't really enjoy the conversation that I heard during the Man's monologue. That would really be bad during an audience paid show.
Adolpho- Where's your real cane? Did you know that you left your "fake cane" on the floor in the auditorium? That's where I found it after bows.
Stage Crew- We need to work on the airplane coming in. I still hate that the "clouds" are trying to juggle clouds and the plane. It's not working, it looks awkward and that plane is going to break before this show is over. The plane also needs to be perfectly centered. It was too far stage right tonight.
Thanks for doing a great job cleaning up my room each night! I've had casts in the past that kind of sucked at it, so I appreciate you taking care of that. You can just push in the chairs at night instead of putting them on the tables. The odds of someone vacuuming from 9:30 pm-7:30 pm are pretty slim. That will give you a chance to wipe down tables as needed. Just make sure the chairs are pushed in all the way. When I come in every morning, it's pitch black in my room and the light switch is on the other side of the room. I amazing avoided tripping over some chairs that were blocking my normal blind path to the light switch. Remember on Saturday there is no school, so you do not have to take the mirrors down.
Great job tonight! If we can run things perfectly tomorrow (or as close to perfectly as we can) we'll have an amazing show for your audiences! I love it when I go from pages and pages of notes to just what you just read.
For everyone again: Enunciation and Diction are the keys to this show being an amazing show! If your audience can't understand the words coming out of your mouths, they won't respond the way that we want them too. As a great man once said, "loud and slow." Speak loud and speak slow and the audience will enjoy the show. Wow. I'm like Dr. Seuss.
Remember, tomorrow's call is at 6 (Right Jesus?) Come earlier if you need to. Same plan as Monday.
We want to get you out of here before 9, so you can have a good rest from all of that exciting math testing. Yay. Math.
Respond that you read this, and mention something you're looking forward to when you perform for your first audience on Wednesday!
