Here's some info for those of you who have never experienced a lock in or forgot how they work.
First off, you're not technically "locked in" because you can still open the doors to leave...but to make it an official "lock in" you shouldn't. From 2:30 to midnight, you're in my care, so because of bad things that can happen if you decide to make a trip to McD's or elsewhere, you should plan on arriving at MP and not leaving until it's time to go.
School is out at 12:15 on Friday (at least at MP). I have a short meeting after school, but I will leave the lower auditorium door unlocked (on the bus side). For the purposes of the "lock in" that will be the only door unlocked for the day. That's to help monitor who comes in to keep out people who should not be there. If you want to come in and go over things before the 2:30 start time or do things for the show, I will not stop you. I'll actually welcome it.
The plan is to run the show twice on Friday. Once with the full pit and then later once with the pit members that want to stay and have some fun (and pizza). Sometimes we get a number of pit members who want to stay, so if you want to encourage them to stay, just ask them!
The first run will probably start at 3:00. If Emmaline is ready, it would be great to get costumes on for the first time. Since we start at 3, and there are a lot of costumes, plan to come in early enough to make that happen. We will still do a piano warm up at 2:45 and you'll want to get your microphones before the pit comes in so you can test them.
The show, if done without interruption, should run an hour and 45 minutes with intermission. At the latest, I anticipate the first run to end around 5.
The second run will start at 9:00. It shouldn't go any later than 11:00.
At about 11:45 or earlier, we'll start cleaning up our messes so we can all leave by 12. Make sure that you have a ride arranged to get out of here at that time. I can't officially leave until everyone has been picked up or driven off. One year I waited over an extra hour for a parent to finally come. Not cool.
That gives you almost 5 hours of "down time." What do you do in that down time? Well...you eat (We'll provide pizza at 5:00), play games, work on scenes that still need work, and participate in making the promo video with Amanda. You can basically do whatever you want, but as Ashlyn pointed out...keep it legal. The worst thing you can do is do something stupid that will get you suspended the following week. You can't be in the show if you're suspended. Since you're on school property, keep that in mind.
If you have any questions or would like to add onto what is here, feel free! If you have games to bring, you are more than welcome to bring them. It should be a fun night. It's always a highlight of the spring musical rehearsal process.
