One week from today!
Some info for you and I'll add to this as we get closer to the date, so keep checking back.
MP students, I'll get you excused 6th period through the attendance office. You can come directly to MC-8 after 5th period. to get ready.
If you are an MG student , if you can tell me who is in charge of your attendance up there, I can send an email to them and see what'll it take to get you out of class 6th period.
If you go elsewhere, see if your parent can excuse you from school by 1:30 so you can come to MP and get ready for the show.
The performance starts at 3:00 pm on the dot.
The show is for Senior Citizens, but we also invite teachers to come if they'd like. ASB at MP is in charge of inviting people so if you know of a Senior who would like to go...you can email or talk to ASB here at MP. We have nothing to do with inviting people or the dinner afterwards.
This will be a pretty unique audience because they mostly come from nursing homes or senior homes from around Marysville. They don't get out too much, and some have happily volunteered to come see you (A lot of them wouldn't miss it for anything!) and some are more excited by the dinner portion. Don't take it personally if you hear someone snoring, it's probably their nap time.
After the show, we're going to have everyone go to the Commons in costumes (some will not due to their particular costume) and meet and greet the Seniors as they get served dinner. You can stay as long as you like, there's no set schedule. If you talk to them, they'll be pretty honest about what they liked and didn't like. They hilariously have no filter. Most of the time, their comments are pretty positive. One of the more common ones is "I couldn't hear you on stage" which can be due to either 1) them forgetting their hearing aid or 2) you not projecting into your microphone. This will be the audience where projection and diction is most important.
After you've talked to people, you can got back to the room, change into civilian clothing and then go back and get yourself some free dinner (once all Seniors have been served.) You can hang out as long as you want or as little as you want. Dinner will probably start at 6:00 pm, so you'll probably be here until 7:00 pm if you do the entire dinner thing. Just a reminder that no one should eat in costume!
That's the basics for now. I'll add as we go on throughout the week until this day. Keep checking back for any added details. If you aren't an MP student and want out early, just do what I asked above and we'll make it work.
