I really need to make sure that you are reading the boards, so here is your next test of the MPHSDRAMACLUB board. All answers need to be submitted before Monday at 2:30 PM. Anyone who doesn't respond gets to meet the Drama Council up-close-and-personal and not in a good way. It'll be your first official "strike" for not following the Drama Club contract.
Please respond to this thread by giving me one (or more) fact(s) about the 1920's, the decade this show was set in. There are some 1920's "in jokes" in the show that could be explained by your answers. These must be genuine facts and not made up.
That's it. Monday by 2:30. The clock starts now.

The first stories of Winnie the Pooh were published in 1926! Women also earned the right to vote in 1920!

1) The Great Migration of African Americans happened in the 1920s, which introduced a great wave of black culture into society. African Americans migrated to the cities and introduced jazz and blues music to America, as well as their own distinctive literary movement. 2) Prohibition made selling alcohol illegal, which gave rise to bootleggers and gangsters. One of the most infamous crime bosses of the era was Al Capone in Chicago. By 1927, Capone had raked in $60 million in alcohol sales.

Pittsburgh’s KDKA became the first commercial radio station in the US in 1920. Just three years later, there were more than 500 radio stations in the country, and radios became mass produced.

In 1924 Susan Newell was the last woman to be hanged in Scotland (she strangled a 13 year-old boy with her bare hands and then got her 8 year-old daughter to help her hide the body (fun amirite ladies))

The 20's were the height of the prohibition in America meaning all consumption and sale of alcohol was outlawed. This is referenced multiple times in the show.
This also caused a huge rise in organized crime which makes the gangsters seem much more realistic.

Did you know the 1920's in America were referred to as the roaring twenties due to an outbreak of Lions on the east coast?

...and they fail.
On the back of the sign in board we are going to be starting our "board of shame" for those that fail these tests.
The punishments will be brining the cast water/food and your name remains until you fulfill your punishment.
We do not want to have a "board of shame" and we shouldn't have a "board of shame", so please don't fail the next test...coming later this week!
