Here's the thing:
Drama Club has spent an incredible amount of money to create this show. Everything from getting the rights, the music, the scripts, the sets, the costumes, etc have cost us a lot!
Our goal for this show is to make all of that money back and then some so next year's Drama Club can also put on amazing shows! This is one of the few clubs that only continues to because it is self supporting. It's pretty simple, really. We spend money on a show, we make money on a show...that money goes to put on another show...and so on.
One of the ways to make money back on a show is through advertising. We spent about $250 on posters so that they can end up in every Starbucks, and every other business in town. We want them in windows, on community boards and everywhere. The more posters put up, the more people know about our show. The more people who know about our show increases our chance of getting good audiences.
When we did this show back in 2005, we nearly sold out the ENTIRE auditorium. It was insane! We did that because you couldn't go anywhere in Marysville without seeing a poster or an advertisement for the show. Everyone knew about it.
We have 2 types of posters. We have the mini 8 1/2 X 11 black and white versions. Those are for around schools and various places around town. The bigger, color more expensive ones are for businesses and places where people gather.
We open the show in less than a month. It should be our goal to have every poster out of my room and spreading around town starting this week and ending the day after spring break. These posters do not put themselves up. We need your help.
Take whatever posters you think you can use to put up around town from North Marysville to South Marysville. Put them up in Elementary School offices and anyplace else kids might be seen at.
I want to come back from spring break knowing that every business has a poster.
You want an audience to see your show. ... This is one of the ways to do it.
If you take a poster to a particular business or posters to a specific area, please let us know below. We don't want to cover the same areas if we don't have to.
This is your show. It's your Drama Club. Spread the word!
