Just some reminders about calendar changes for this week:
Monday and Tuesday are choreography days for "Gaston" Please come dressed appropriately for a good ol' fashioned workout. I'd like everyone who is considered to be in an ensemble part in this dance. There's some really cool stuff involved and it'll look kind of sad if Gaston and LeFou don't have very many "Cronies" Don't worry enchanted objects- You'll have plenty of time to change costumes before "Be Our Guest." If you are not part of "Gaston" you should still be here. You only have a week and a couple of days to have Act 1 memorized so this would be a great time to go over music (Victoria is free)and lines.
Wednesday is a day I'm giving the entire rehearsal to Victoria. Everyone should be here. It'll be one of our last chances to get the music down.
Thursday after signing in, you'll be working with Victoria for about 10 minutes (warming up and going over some stuff) and then you'll bring your scripts with pencils out to the auditorium to do some "speed blocking." For those of you who are new, "Blocking" is just a fancy theatre term meaning "This is where you stand, move, enter and exit in the show." Since the goal is to block all of Act 1 in one day (a feat never before accomplished) we'll need 100% cooperation from everyone in the cast. We will be doing choreo for "Belle" and "Gaston" so be prepared for that too. You can stay in the auditorium to watch (but please don't have loud conversations) or you can go into MC-8. Just be in ear shot so when I call for you, you can be on stage within 10 seconds or less. If we have to wait for you that slows down the "speed blocking." The pencil that you'll be bringing with you is to be used to write down what I tell you. Do not plan on just memorizing it. On some shows I'm flexible on blocking and I'm cool with some changes, but this show has specific moves that cannot be changed. We're already behind on this show, so it is up to you to write down your moves exactly as told and to memorize them as they were given. You CANNOT "fake" blocking, so please do this seriously. We will have NO time to fix anything you mess up.
If you have questions about this week, please leave them below! See you after school!
