Well...we got done before 5...
If you had trouble with lines today, please take the time to look over them before tomorrow's rehearsal.
If you have the same exact problem areas that you did today, that'll tell me that you didn't really look over them.
Tomorrow when we run through this, I'd really appreciate it if those of you in the audience would not help those on stage. I know you mean well, but sometimes you'd give them lines before they even had a chance to think about what they were going to say.
The proper way to do this is to have one person who has the script in front of them help the actors when they need it. The actors have to say the magic word "LINE" in order to get that help. That's just how it's worked for 100s of years (probably), so let's not change the system. If you want to be the one person to feed lines, you are more than welcome to do so. We just need ONLY ONE to do it.
Starting Thursday, you'll want to start checking this board before each and every rehearsal. This is where I'll put rehearsal notes and information that you need to know before the next rehearsal. I'll repeat that again...you need to look at the notes BEFORE the next rehearsal but please don't look at them the minutes before rehearsal begins. They won't benefit you as much.
The plan for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday is to keep running the whole show with you off script, but adding things like props and set pieces as they appear in the show. We want to have that all figured out BEFORE stage crew next Monday. Ashlyn is going to be working with you on costumes, so please get with her if you're having trouble finding anything that you need that we haven't purchased. Don't take anything off the racks until you've talked to Ashlyn.
See you tomorrow! No need to respond, unless you want to.
