It occurred to me that this is only 4 days before auditions for the fall play. Kind of late for advertising this. We probably should've considered this when choosing the date of the first meeting. Oh, well, too late now...
There are things we can do before the meeting:
If you are interested in helping to get the word out for auditions (creating posters, etc) please discuss it here! I'm mostly worried that MG students won't know about this until it's too late. I would love to see at least one banner/poster up at both schools. Anyone can audition for the show! No experience is necessary! We would like a lot of people involved because our Spring Musical will need a lot of people too...especially boys!
We do not want to advertise on social media because this show is only open to MP/MG students. You can message individuals, but please don't put up a full blown advertisement.
I'm hoping the "Harry Potter" aspect is enough to get students interested this year. Heck, it's the 20th anniversary of the first book, so you all grew up with him!
Please do help to get some advance word out.

That would be awesome!
So far we have 6 people signed up for auditions. If we can't a lot, lot more by Friday, I may have to cancel auditions and choose a much smaller cast show that we'll have to pay royalties on.
Spread the word!

We're down to 5 people auditioning now with less than a week before auditions.
I might cancel them earlier than Friday, especially since it doesn't seem like Drama Council is too concerned. I'm basing that based on the lack of any responses.

Making an executive decision. If we don't get more people auditioning or if Drama Council continues to not respond, I'm canceling or postponing the fall play.
Sorry.

We're still at 5 people auditioning and it's the Wednesday before auditions.
Sad.

I can also make flyers/posters for MP. I'll pick up a audition packet but I dont know if I'll be able to do it. I'll explain more at the meeting

Thank you to Amanda who took some packets and wrote down some names for Monday's auditions.
This is what we needed.
Monday'a auditions are still on, but Tuesday has been cancelled and postponed until the following Monday.
Next Wednesday, I've scheduled a club meeting.
Next Friday (at MP) there is a Club Fair thingy in the forum. Let's plan on using those two things to get more people into Drama Club and beef up our numbers.

We have 10 people signed up for Monday's auditions. Assuming everyone shows up (not always probable) we'll be 13 people short of a full cast.
That probably means that anyone who auditions will be cast and that we will be doubling parts like crazy.
If you know anyone interested in auditioning, we still have audition packets and slots available. I also still have some audition posters that never were put up.
Spread the word! "Beauty and the Beast" has a similar cast size, and if we don't have enough people in Drama Club that's going to be pretty impossible to do. The magic number is 30.
