Someone might be interested in this. It involves a chance to learn about sound tech (could be a useful help here at MP) and see "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" for only 25 dollars!
email me at Roy_Klementsen@msvl.k12.wa.us and I'll send you the registration paper.
NOW REGISTERING: The Hunchback of Notre Dame
TECH TUESDAY: Sound and Signs
TUESDAY, May 29, 2018
4:30pm-9:00pm (4:15 Check-In)
Sound and Signs
There are several key jobs in the theater that are dedicated to helping an audience understand what actors are saying. This hands-on workshop will examine the world of theater sound: What kinds of microphones are used in the theater and how do they operate? How can you use your own school’s microphones more effectively? Along the way, we’ll meet American Sign Language interpreters and learn how their role is especially crucial for this production’s audience as well as the cast and company. You will also tour backstage, observe the technical rehearsal, meet working theater professionals and technicians including the Sound Designer of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Kevin Heard, who will chat with you over a pizza** dinner. You will also receive one ticket to the June 2nd or June 15th evening performance of The Hunchback of Notre Dame so that you can return to see the story fully told with both microphones and ASL interpretation.
*Tuition $25.00
